Our Values

Baptism

“Going public with the change.”

Baptism is the believer’s first public step of obedience — a picture of dying and rising with Christ, and a confession before the church and the world that we belong to Him.

Matthew 28 · 19

Make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Acts 2 · 38

Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ.

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

Romans 12 · 12

Our Values

Evangelism

“Inviting others to Jesus.”

Having received good news, we share it. Evangelism is simply telling others about Jesus — His death and resurrection — and inviting them to follow Him, always ready to give a reason for our hope.

Matthew 28 · 19–20

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.

Our Values

Membership

“Joining the others with Jesus.”

We were not made to follow Jesus alone. Membership is committing to a body of believers — one another’s in love, care, and accountability — as members of one another in Christ.

1 Corinthians 12 · 12

The body is one and has many members, and all are one body.

Romans 12 · 5

We, though many, are one body in Christ, and members one of another.

1 Corinthians 12 · 25

“Being accountable to Jesus.”

Everything we have is a trust from God. As good stewards we use our time, gifts, and resources faithfully — cheerful and accountable, longing to hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

1 Peter 4 · 10

Use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as good stewards.

Mortification

By the Spirit we put sin to death. Mortification is the daily work of laying aside the old self and what is not of Christ, pressing on toward what lies ahead.

Romans 8 · 12–13

If by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

What We Believe

The Scriptures

The inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God.

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction, with God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. It is our supreme standard for all we believe and do. We affirm the Baptist Faith & Message 2000.

2 Timothy 3 · 16–17

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching and training in righteousness.

2 Peter 1 · 20–21

Men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

What We Believe

The Triune God

One God eternally existing in three persons.

There is one and only one living and true God. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience.

What We Believe

Jesus Christ

Fully God and fully man, crucified and risen.

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary — fully God and fully man. He honored the law by His obedience, died on the cross for our sins, was raised bodily, ascended to the Father, and will return in power and glory.

John 1 · 1, 14

The Word was God… and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

1 Corinthians 15 · 3–4

Christ died for our sins… was buried… and was raised on the third day.

Philippians 2 · 9–11

What We Believe

The Holy Spirit

God present and active in His people.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He convicts the world of sin, gives spiritual rebirth, indwells every believer, and seals us for the day of redemption. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and empowers the church for worship, witness, and service.

John 16 · 8, 13

He will convict the world… and guide you into all the truth.

Romans 8 · 9, 11

The Spirit of God dwells in you… and gives life to your mortal bodies.

Galatians 5 · 22–23

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness…

What We Believe

Salvation

By grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole person and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It is wholly a work of God’s grace, received through faith — not by works — and includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2 · 8–9

By grace you have been saved through faith… not a result of works.

Romans 10 · 9

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord… you will be saved.

Titus 3 · 5

He saved us… by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.

What We Believe

The Church

A covenanted body of baptized believers.

A New Testament church is a local body of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel. It observes the two ordinances of Christ, is governed by His laws, and seeks to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. Each congregation operates under the lordship of Christ, led by pastors/elders and served by deacons.

Acts 2 · 41–42

Those who received the word were baptized… and devoted themselves to the fellowship.

Ephesians 1 · 22–23

God gave Christ as head over all things to the church, which is His body.

1 Timothy 3 · 1–13

What We Believe

Baptism & the Lord’s Supper

Two ordinances given by Christ to His church.

Christ gave His church two ordinances. Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, picturing death to sin and new life in Christ, and is prerequisite to church membership. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial in which members, through bread and cup, remember the death of Christ and anticipate His return.

Romans 6 · 4

We were buried with Him by baptism into death… to walk in newness of life.

1 Corinthians 11 · 23–26

Do this in remembrance of Me… until He comes.

Matthew 28 · 19

What We Believe

Last Things

Christ will return; the dead will be raised.

God, in His own time and way, will bring the world to its appointed end. Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory. The dead will be raised, and Christ will judge all people in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to eternal punishment, and the righteous, in their resurrected and glorified bodies, will receive their reward and dwell forever with the Lord.

Acts 1 · 11

This Jesus… will come in the same way as you saw Him go into heaven.

1 Thessalonians 4 · 16–17

The Lord will descend… and the dead in Christ will rise first.

Revelation 21 · 3–4
